Killer Christmas (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

At this time of year, I enjoy reading books that are just light easy reads. And this was a perfect short cozy mystery that is set during the Christmas season. I really enjoyed the main character, Emma Wild, and plan on reading more in this series. The author gave us a couple of suspects in the murder and I was going back and forth trying to make up my mind. The ending felt a bit rushed but I did enjoy this read.Looking for a fun Christmas cozy? This is a very good one that I recommend! This was a nice quick holiday book, set around Christmas time. It's the first in a series of Emma Wild storiesEmma Wild is a professional singer. Having moved to NYC from a small town in Canada , she's now famous in singing industry. Emma returns home for the holidays since she just split from her current boyfriend Nick Doyle, a famous actor. Upon returning home, she discovers her nemesis during school years, Kendra, lives across the street from her parents now. She recently lost her husband & is raising her son by herself. She's friendly with Emma when seeing her which confuses Emma but figures , not in school anymore & people grow up & changeEmma's sister still lives in the hometown & owns a small cafe that sells coffee, hot chocolate & chocolate pastries. Emma goes to her sisters cafe one day, orders few things plus a drink, when a fan sees her & immediately starts to run over & act like a typical fan until she drops over dead!! Her name was also Emma & it's soon figured that the poisoned drink was meant for Emma WildAs the investigation takes place, Emma's home town ex boyfriend who is now divorced & a detective now, starts to question suspects, including Craig, the cashier & then Kate, a barista at the cafe. Turns out Kate is Kendra's cousin. Who murdered the other Emma? The author also gets you in to wanting to buy her next books in the series to see if Emma chooses Nick or home town man, Sterling in her next book in the seriesI'd recommend for a nice short holiday read

A pretty simple mystery, nothing very deep. It was ok.
