I loved this re-telling of the Sleeping Beauty! I enjoyed the unique twist of having a modern peasant be the one to awaken the princess with true love's first kiss as well as the two having to work towards love, rather than the love being there already. I liked the added twist of the 'Herculean' task set before Jack at the end of the story.Overall, a very enjoyable book. Written in style of contemporary novels, but with fairy-tale and modern stories to speed the story along. It wasn't bad at all.... until I reached the ending. Ohhhh, the ending. Why is it have to be so corny? But overall, I pretty much enjoyed it. I really liked the the idea of a modernized fairytale. There were hilarious moments and moments that made me giggle like little girl.When I read it for the second time out of boredom, I skipped the last few pages.It's not one of the greatest story. It's written fairly well so I give it a 3.
I really enjoyed this book, but I often found my self looking forward to Jake's rather then Talia's.
