Despite this one being more geared to sex there was enough of a story to keep me happy.Cody/Christian was a pretty solid character. He struggled with insecurity and fear but put a brave face on things and worked with what he had.Finn was the all round Hero. But real enough that I believed in him whole heartedly. I was expecting a little more drama towards the end, but if it had gone the way I expected it would have been too cliched so I'm happy it was rather anti climatic lol. Overall a little too short in actual story time for me, but expected being a Ellorascave publication. My Review:I enjoyed this book. I've never read this author before, but bought it off a recommendation from another book blogger. She was right...this one was right up my alley. I especially like this one because it shows some of the realities of trying for a relationship when one of the members is in the adult industry without getting into the nitty gritty sex of that industry. There are never any scenes in the book where Cody is filming and I found that I liked that. This book kept the focus on the relationship between Christian and Finn while still talking about the stress that this career can have on a relationship. Christian was underage and living on the street about to become a criminal when he got pulled into the adult film industry. Now, five years later, he doesn't know how to be anything else. He's stuck...even if he does stop, his alter ego, Cody Starr, will always still be out there since that stuff doesn't go away. That's no way for him to build a relationship especially with someone like Finn. Finn is different. He doesn't see Cody Starr the porn star. He sees Christian, a guy that he could easily fall in love with. The problem is Cody. Finn just doesn't think that he can deal with the reality of Cody on the set during the day having sex with other guys. And he's honest about that....with himself and with Christian, but that doesn't change how much these guys truly connect. They try to stay away and that doesn't work so well for them. I also really loved the background for Finn...hot, sexy, alpha ex-soldier...oh yeah. And since he runs his own security company out of Beverly Hills, he understands the stresses for stars being in the public eye. I appreciated that he could see this with Christian, too. The scenes that took place at the security firm were always fun...from Finn's best friend to the security dogs, Smith & Wesson. I definitely enjoyed that part. I enjoyed the way that this one played out. Christian is in such a hard place...terrified of ending up homeless and destitute again since he never even graduated from high school. I could definitely understand his fear of quitting. I liked the way the author wrote the story though so that there was hope for a future for the two. I'd LOVE to see another book featuring them just to see how it all goes....
What do You think about Kissing Cody Starr (2014)?
What's not to love. A dissolutioned porn star and a military hero. Enjoyed it from start to finish.
