Basically, the final battle between the resistance and the Duke. The kids are tired of fighting, but get pulled into things again. Didn't think the romantic tension with Danello was strong enough.Like the creative ideas for defense and showing what difference a good leader (Jeatar) can make for a rebellion. Didn't like the result, but thought it was very realistic to show what happened when people thought they had an invincible hero and couldn't lose.Maybe worked too hard on a tidy ending at the very end? I don't know what took me so long to finally read this series but I'm glad I finally did. Everything from the worldbuilding to the characters stole my heart . I felt quite nostalgic when I finished this book knowing it is the end. Nya was fierce, strong and very clever which made me love her character a lot. I feel that most female characters are not very clever in YA nowadays and Nya really stood out to me. She not only kicked ass, she was also resourceful. All the supporting characters were interesting and I got attached to them. Some deaths actually made me feel sad. The romance was so subtle and so well done. It was always there but never made a big deal which I really enjoyed. There is a war going on and the characters had their priorities straight. My only complaint is that the enemy is somewhat one dimensional but really I'm just nitpicking. I would read this series all over again. I read it all in a day so I wish there was more because I didn't want to leave this world.
Very good ending to the trilogy. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. A good read for everyone.
