Well I just have to say that i liked this book to much that i actually read it twice. I really love romance books and due to the title ou can tell that thats what this book is about. Alex lives in a small town. not so long ago, he father drowned in the river. she has been absolutly terrified about it and cant even come close to it. When her dad got back from serving iraq, he looked really depressed. When he died, Alex regreted not spending much time with him instead of spending time with her gorgeous boyfriend, Sean. In Iraq, Alex's dad saw realy bad stuff happen to innocent people, i guess that he got scared for life and thats why he came back all depressed instead of happy to see his faily. Of course Alex feeling all guilty broke up with Sean. but now that hes back, she just cant seem to be away from him. Mala, Alex's cousin and best friend, tries to support her and be with her, but i just think its to much work. But theres another problem, one of the workers is falling desperitly in love with Alex, she doesnt really want to be near him because shes still in love with Sean. towards the end of the book, Alex, the worker, and Sean get on a bat and go towards the river. ALex is absolutly terrified. things go bad and sean gets in a fight. he ends up ijured and decided thats its best if he just went back. of course like alex went all bullistic at him. he was kind of mad at her for blaming him for her fathers dead. i mean thats a lot of blame to take on.i thought this book was well writen and i would like to read any follow-up book. when i was reading it, i kind of felt the pain that alex was going through with her dad and thinking that sean miht hateher forevr. This is my first YA romance and after reading it I know I will look into more of these types of books. I really enjoyed this one and all the characters. I found myself connecting with Alex from the start. She is a strong characters who has had to go through many life changes in the past year, which include losing her Father to the river which she loves above all. I liked the setting as well. The river to me portrayed all of Alex's feelings throughout the book calm, raging, still, powerful the list goes on and I very much liked the symbolism in. I was shocked my the tragedy at the end but felt that Mills had done the right thing. I am very impressed with this author and I will definitely look into more of her books.
What do You think about Kırık Kalpler Nehri (2000)?
This was a great book full of romance but with a sad past and moving on with life.
