La Escuela Secreta De Nasreen, Una Historia Verdadera De Afganistn: Nasreen's Secret School (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

Nasreen’s Secret School. This book is very good and interesting. It talks about a young lady who has to go to school in secret. In their country the girls are not allowed to go to school because the soldiers don't want the ladies to learn about the world and to be educated. I think this book would be suited for children ages 9-16teen. It is suited for 9 year olds because it shows how young ladies risk their lives to go to school. And by reading this book i believe that young kids will start to want to go to school. Teachers and parents would love this book because it talks about people from different countries and how women don’t have a lot of rights. For example, in Nasreen’s Secret School it states, “ The Taliban soldiers don’t want girls to learn about the world, they way Nasreen’s mama and I learned when we were girls.” One thing i enjoyed about this book was that the young ladies risk their lives to go to school and learn. Where I live people don’t want to go to school they like to stay home and sleep. I also liked how in the end of the book Nasreen talks to her grandma about what she learned in school. I always talk to my mom about what i learned in school . One thing i disliked about the book was that they talked about soldiers in a bad way that they take people away for no reason. Not all soldiers are bad and not all soldiers take away people for no reason. Nasreen's Secret School is about how she decides to not speak after her mom leaves to go find her husband. Her grandma ricks everything to enroll Nasreen in a secret school for girls. After that Nasreen opens up and se the world ina different perspective. This book is intended for ages 6-9 I believe that is from kinder to 4th grade. I believe these ages will be ok because the book will really catch there attention. It doesnt have difficult words or to understand. Someone who I suggest to read this book is someone who is not open or doesnt speak much because it shows how school changed her. It doesnt mean that school will change you like it did to nasreen but when you have your mind open you can find a solution to your problem. People are going to be there for you like Nasreen's friends where for her. So don't be afraid to be open.In my personal opinion this book is really good because it gives us the hope to not give up when times are hard don't give up. There are still ganna be someone there to help you be the same person again. Dont give up try something new you might like it. In the book when nasreen open up to her friend she feels better and starts to learn and love her place.
