Wow. So I knew Lovecraft was a racist, but... wow. He would not have liked me!I thought it was about time I read some H.P. Lovecraft, and I'm glad I did. I like his writing style. I'd describe it as somehow melodious. That description doesn't usually go well with horror stories but in my head, it's the only one that fits. That being said, I really wanted to get scared and that did not happen. Something about this story just didn't grip me. Maybe I'm just too jaded with all the blood and gore that goes on in this day and age, I don't know. Still, it was interesting to read the work of a H.P. Lovecraft and his legendary monster, Cthulu. I'll probably read more of his stuff in the future. "No hay en el mundo fortuna mayor, creo, que la incapacidad de la mente humana para relacionar entre sí todo lo que hay en ella. Vivimos en una isla de plácida ignorancia, rodeados por los negros mares de lo infinito, y no es nuestro destino emprender largos viajes." Que buena frase ha empleado el autor casi al inicio de este relato.H. P. Lovecraft ha escrito en sus obras una red de conocimiento arcaico, que describe a seres infinitamente antiguos en torno a quienes existe un culto secreto que cuenta con toda clase de rituales maquiavélicos y extraños. En este libro cuenta la historia de un investigador que trata de descifrar la historia de estos seres, así como del culto que los deifica, y encuentra quizá más conocimiento del que quisiera. Estos relatos sinceramente no me han causado miedo, pero sí un poco de curiosidad, así que esperó leer algunos más para entender un poco más las obras de este autor.
