La Luxure: Discover Your Blood Lust (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I must admit that the whole vampire human thing kinda threw me off but intrigued me all the same. The connection that Julia instantly has with New Orleans is simple in that you don't feel like the character shouldn't belong there. Her intrigue into this dark secluded world is where the story truly takes off. Especially once she meets or should I say is drawn to the brooding owner of La Luxure, Armand Laroque. Who knew a mixture of dark characters, misconceptions, passion and absinthe could make for such an intriguing story. Interesting concept and I believe I would give it more stars had it been in any other category such as romantic suspense or mystery. The story was interesting, the characters somewhat likable, but the basic premise was misleading.Perhaps I'm being unfair. The series name was "human vampire", which should have been a clue; however, I dismissed it due to the book's chosen genre - Paranormal Romance. It struck me as an odd way to word it, but there are all sorts of mythologies developed around vampires. I mistakenly assumed this was but another re-imagining of an ancient legend. When I discovered the truth, I was disappointed, and that disappointment colored my enjoyment of the rest of the book.
What do You think about La Luxure: Discover Your Blood Lust (2011)?
Kinda amusing. Don't want to spoil the surprise by saying what is so amusing though...
