La Tierra Silenciada (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

The first few pages of this book are incredibly intriguing and phenomenally written. The moment Zoe found out she was upside down literally made me feel claustrophobic. Then they got out. The author did an amazing job making them seem flustered and amazed they survived. Then the energy of the book plummeted. And I mean plummeted. It very quickly became the most boring book I've ever read. Then, after PAINFULLY reading about them making no progress, the story reaches a turning point where things suddenly make sense. But I don't know about you, but the turning point didn't make me go "OOOOH WOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE!" it kinda made me nod and say something like "oh ok." I kept trying to figure out if it was a horror book. But no it turned into a mystery novel. But no, maybe it was a paradise book where they have infinite food and could ski forever on perfect snow. Then later it turned back into horror and mystery. Then, at the very end of the book it turns out to be a Romance? With them proclaiming their love? Wait what? I don't know about you, but I didn't feel they LOVED each other. I mean, I know they loved each other. But not to the extent that the last few pages tried to portray. Isn't there more to love than just sex? Maybe I'm just an old fashion romantic. As far as love goes. I do think the most beautiful part of the book was Zoe's memory of her parents. When her Mom died and she "haunted" Zoe's father, her husband. Gosh. That got me. That was one of a few gorgeous parts of the book. Chapters that, in and of themselves, where very thought provoking. Story line wise, not so much. Although a bad book. I finished it. Which I don't normally do if I don't like a book. There were things I wish it had and things I liked. I'm not going to recommend not reading this book (does that make sense?) some people may really like it. Not my cup-o-tea.

What do You think about La Tierra Silenciada (2010)?
