Lazy Sundays (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

This novella could be better if Scott wasn't such a drama queen. His insecurities annoyed me - poor Devon bent over backwards to constantly assure Scott.. But I agree with Scott - I honestly can't see what Devon saw in him. I wanted him to dump Scott's hysterical ass and find himself another guy. The ending wasn't satisfying, either. Yes, Devon lied - and apologized..I also wanted Scott to apologize to Devon, too. He said some really harsh words..Devon's lie doesn't absolve him of his own guilt. The bit with Scott seeing Devon hugging another guy was left unresolved. Why? He suffered a panic attack thinking Devon moved on - why doesn't he ask Devon later what that was about? I guess that guy was just Devon's bandmate - but Scott doesn't know that.It doesn't mesh well with Scott's personality - forgetting such a juicy bit to accuse Devon of. Did the author just forget clear that up? 2 stars only for sweet Devon. I generally don't read romantic novels, especially those with a gay story line. From my own experience gay love stories are normally predictable and nearly always end in tragedy. I found Lazy Sundays a refreshing change from the norm. The plot and characters are believable and this was one of those books that I wanted to keep reading. For me the sign of a good book is one that I pick up at times of the day when I don't normally read; I find time from somewhere that I don't normally have. If you want a love story that doesn't make you roll your eyes, then Lazy Sundays is for you.
