I'm going to take this moment to review the whole series. So, you know, SSSPPPOOIIILLLEERRSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, bear with for a list of songs that remind me of this series (such a weird thing, right? But I NEED TO SHARE MY HEARTACHE WITH SOMEONE)Okay, firstly, I thought the entire plot was very unique. I was a big fan of the solid evidence of God, it wasn't blind belief. I'm not religious, and I don't tend to lean towards books that are, but the solid evidence helped because, you know, there was a gem in her belly. Thats kind of...um... inexplicable in any other sense.I did enjoy the politics, though when I was going through my mourning of the entire series, I got a bit bored re-reading it.The Invierne were FREAKING AWESOME! I didn't think I'd end up feeling any sympathy for them but Storm ended up my favorite character!Okay, so now I'll talk characters:Storm: he was my favorite; arrogant, loyal to a friend and just funny, he snatched my heart! I feel bad for him. The only person he loved (Waterfall) dies. but he's still my snappy cold guy.Elisa: I loved her, but I was a LITTLE disapointed when her stone fell out, and when she gave up the power of the universe (fine. I'm power-seeking. now you know)Hector: he was... a good character. Strong character. But ugh, all the procrastinating and not going for it with Elisa kind of bored me a bit.RED SPARKLE STONE: aww, what a dear. I hope they eventually tell her she's NOT A SLAVE. Because thats important info, you know?Rosario: such a cutie! He'll make a good king.Mara, Cosme and Belen are also my favorites, just for their strength (and Mara's kindness, Belen's funniness, and Cosme's extra strong strength)Ximena: I actually didn't like her. Meddling old lady indeed. She sacrificed Hector!Humberto *SOOOOOB* I saved him for last *sniffle*Just give me a moment, the pain still cuts deepI will always hold him in my heart above all else. My sweet Humberto! He was kind and funny and oh so brave. The whole second book, I was hopeful her tummy-power would bring him back to life. But after she started making goggly eyes at Hector, I knew he was lost.Relationships:Elisa and her men:At first, I was so hopeful Elisa would win over Alejandro, and was kind of annoyed with Humberto. But that passed. So Humberto, oh god. He was perfect. He was the light-heartedness Elisa needed, the strength the loyalty, the kindness. He would never want to hurt her. I just wish she hadn't told him how she felt TOO LATE. Hector: He ended up awesome. Strong, and there's this song on the hunger games album that reminds me very strongly of his and Elisa's relationship (Kingdom Come) actually, all the books remind me of The Girl of Fire and Thorns characters. Maybe just because I was listening to it whilst I read these. **** (I will supply a list about that.)Anyways, his fault was that often time he said hurtful things (ON PURPOSE) and was reluctant to love her openly. It bothered me a bit, and I always thought: Humberto would not try to hurt her feelings.and Elisa needs someone light and happy, and Hector is a bit brooding and dark. But I suppose that's what Mara and Rosario are for, to make her ice light and joyous. In the end, I will always ship Humberto/ElisaHe was so sweet and loyal. And whilst I love Hector/Elisa, my heart lies with her first and sweetest love. He wasn't sarcastic like Hector, or strong and protective as Hector was. But he never tried to hurt her, and would never have hesitated to marry her and WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE?But I am happy with how Elisa and Hector ended up. I just miss Humberto desperately. DAMN YOU RAE!Besides Elisa:I love Mara and Belen. I just wish she'd marry him already, but another small part of me thinks Cosme needs someone more. No, they didn't work though. Maybe Cosme and Jacian will get together?Storm/Alodia: I knew this would happen! And I hope Alodia comes around because Storm deserves the best woman ever, after all his suffering, and awesomeness. I don't think him and Alodia will really match. But opposites attract, I guess.Rosario/RedBecause they're going to get together (thought in that case Alejandro's line will die out)Overall:I loved it.I miss all the charactersI miss Elisa being the bearerI miss EVERYTHINGI hope Alodia, Cosme and Elisa become the best of friendsand The Invierne peace lasts.I hope EVERYTHING IS HAPPY. That is all.****Hunger Games Album and The Characters and Bits They Remind Me OfAbraham's Daughter- the general desert-nessTomorrow Will BE Kinder- Red (when she was a slave)Nothing to Remember- Elisa or AlodiaSafe and Sound- Rosario (Elisa being a mother-like figure) or Humberto (when he *sniff* died)Dark Days- Humberto or StormKingdom Come- Hector and Elisa's love story (the song just sums it all up)Come Away to The Water- Storm or Elisa (definitely about the Invierne camp though)Eyes Open- Mara singing to BelenJust a Game- Red (with her new family) A lot of times, I'm on board the MC's love interest train and I'm just riding along like "oh, that's so sweet." But HECTOR. Hector makes me swoon. And I can't describe it better because he's literally the best. I think he's move right up to the top of my fictional boyfriend list. There's Hector @ #1, Chaol from Throne of Glass, and Nicholai from the Grisha series, completely knocking out contemporary guys . Also, why are guys in fantasy so much better than contemporary? We need an algorithm to figure this out. Oh, also, great end to the series. I wish there was some kind of epilogue or another series in the same universe? That would be fan-flipping-tastic.
What do You think about Le Royaume Des Larmes (2014)?
Waiting for this book to come out was torture. I absolutely loved it!
