Leaders Eat Last Deluxe: Why Some Teams Pull Together And Others Don't (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
Perfect continuation to the ideas presented in Start With Why. Mr. Sinek definitely put his soul into writing this book so that we can try to make the world a better place. The stories presented in this book illustrate how great leaders are not born, but instead, people become leaders. And people who become good leaders, affect positively everyone around them, creating a virtuous circle where everybody feels safe. The best thing about this book is that it is not supposed to be used as advice for people to climb the corporate ladder selfishly. Quite the opposite, it is written so that the reader may become a better person, someone who makes people around them feel good about him and about themselves, so that the people in the group can trust each other. An excellent primer on servant leadership, with strong up-to-the-minutes examples from across the business and political worlds. Its core lessons are pretty simple - be humble, put people first, follow the golden rule - and not particularly revelatory for readers familiar with prior writings on servant leadership. What's new? Undergirding its motivational insights with discourses on brain chemistry, and vilifying Boomers, Millenials (yay for Gen X!) and Newt Gingrich.
