Leather+Lace (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I loved this book a great deal. Stevie was a strong young man who lived through horrific abuse by his former master Julius. What I liked was how Stevie saw himself as weak never giving himself the credit on how hard it was to leave Julius. With all the domestic abuse in the news lately I feel this book was true in its portrayal of the victim. Even after all Julius did to him Stevie still loved him and mourned his death. It’s also true he hated and feared him. I liked Don but had two problems with him. He told Stevie he should had communicated his needs to Julius better. This made me think he was blaming the victim. I know any other time I would had read over it without noticing but I am hyper aware right now. The second problem was his cheating. I know he thought Stevie hooked up first but it still bothered me. To be fair I loved how patient Don was with Stevie. He was going through the loss of his beloved boy and yet he was concerned about Stevie. I loved this couple and hope to see them again. I read this for the second time today and I really enjoyed it - perhaps even more than the first time. Both characters appealed to me and I really felt for the pain that they had been through.Steven had escaped from a dangerous master/slave relationship and Don had lost his slave after an horrific bike accident which had also claimed the life of Steven's ex-master. It's hard to believe that anything good could come from this start but it definitely does.Steven is a Stevie Nicks impersonator and Don the Dom is a bad-assed master from the States but somehow they find a common point from which they could develop as a couple. Most of the book takes place in a house which is at the top of the Royal National Park near Sydney and this added extra appeal as I live quite close to this. The book is well paced, well researched and well written and I have to give it my highest recommendation.I will certainly be reading more by this author.

What do You think about Leather+Lace (2013)?

Excellent tale of Stevie coming to terms with a bad break up of a BDSM M/s relationship.

4.5 really, but unlike Steve & Don, my choices are limited here.
