Sheila's Passion by Lora Leigh- This has all the trappings of what you expect from Lora Leigh. The first 5 pages are a vividly described intense sexual scene. It ends in some high school type drama and proceeds from there. There were pages where I was on board with the hero and others where I was on board with Sheila but mostly nothing really stuck out as original. I gave it an OK rating but I don't feel more stars are warranted because its much like any other LL you may have already read.Deadly Dance by Cheyenne McCray- This was a VERY sweet romance. Despite the length it was never rushed and though there were a few time jumps it wasn't disrupting. I liked how the romance progressed smoothing and slowly and the story felt whole. Caught by Red Gardnier- I don't know how I feel about this one. I kept reading to see what would happen but really didn't feel rewarded. The whole story is pretty dark and disturbing. Meghan came off as a little clingy and desperate and Cody was the typical "I'm ruining my own life and your for your own good" guy. It got on my nerves. The back story was pretty gruesome but definitely has potential I just feel like, in my opinion, it petered out rather than really exploding. Bah. This was not worth the time. The first one by Lora Leigh was super smexy hot. The sex was good. The storyline itself threw me for a loop. I seem to have come in 1/2 way through a series or something. I'm tempted to figure it out but I honestly don't care enough about it. Sheila was an okay female main character. Kind of odd how much she was hurt by her first crush at 19. What person after so many years is still traumatized in this manner? I call it the 1st world issues. *rolls eyes*Nick on the other hand, what the hell? What kind of woman did he get engaged to who would liquidate his home and clear out his bank account the minute she found out he was shot in the line of duty? First of all, why did she have access to his account? Second of all, how the hell did she end up in his house and selling all his furniture? Third she left him for his best friend? What kind of an asshole did he become friends with? How do people who do this live with themselves? Shameful! But back to the issue at hand, this could have all been avoided if he didn't let her move into his house. It's called living in sin for a reason. I guess I'm old fashion. The storyline was about some kind of revenge thing but honestly, all I got out of it was hot sex and very annoy ex-lovers. Seriously, both Nick and Sheila were taken for a ride and they could have prevented it. Oh, and the other thing I got out of this story? Sheila says she doesn't like to play games but she does. I have no respect for her. Talk like a normal person! The second story was fine. The sex was meh. The evil villain, Carter, was a waste of air. Keri's originally response to Carter when he hit her was dumb. I guess I'm one of those people who if someone hit me, I'd go physically postal on the person. I wouldn't run my mouth off about all the things I'd do to make sure they get sent to jail. Very dumbass move on her part. Are people really this stupid in real life? I hope not. It annoyed me and I just couldn't enjoy the story as much. The last one I didn't like. Megan was too stupid to live. Everything about her annoyed me. I felt badly for Ivan yet he was clearly a troubled person who beheaded animals. Cody was just unreal. His response were all fucked up.Basically, this book is a hot mess of screwed up people who can't get their relationships together because of their "1st world" problems. I'm sure in the real world, they would all have therapist and their issues would be "abandonment" and "mommy/daddy" issues. Yet they all have happily ever afters and find their one true love. *double eye rolling* Ugh. I'm still leaving the rating as a 3 star even though I barely enjoyed the book to give it a 2 star. The writing styles were still decent even if I didn't really enjoy the stories.
What do You think about Legally Hot (2012)?
The release date for this book was pushed out many times. After reading I think I see why.

Going to reread this one. So I'm clearing my review and starting fresh.

Good characters, great sex scenes, weak-assed excuses for plot.
