Leprechaun In Late Winter (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

I really loved this book. The thought of Jack and Annie traveling a long time ago in Ireland inspired me to believe in fairies. They met Lady Gregory (a real person), who didn't believe in fairies. At first Lady Gregory thought Jack and Annie were good for nothing. If you read it, you'll find out how their friendship with Lady Gregory came to be. You'll also find out whether fairies are real. This book is one of the greatest Magic Tree House books yet! This story is about two kids, Jack and Annie, mission to inspire a girl named Augusta. Jack and Annie were sent to nineteenth century Ireland by a magician named Merlin to inspire Augusta. Augusta grew up from a rich family, and she loves to listen to stories from a woman named Mary. She also loved to explore the wilderness with her brothers when she was younger; however, her mother forced her to stop exploring in the woods because it was not 'lady like'. After listening to Mary's stories, Augusta wished to meet The Shee, a group of fairies and leprechauns, but she was unable to meet The Shee because she did not meet the requirements needed to meet The Shee. Jack and Annie would eventually find Augusta to find that she is unhappy with her life. After a meeting with Mary, Augusta runs away crying. In hopes of cheering her up, Jack and Annie performed a play for her, and this play would have The Shee appear; however, Augusta was taken away. Jack and Annie find Augusta with help from a leprechaun named Willie. Jack and Annie managed to get Augusta to go back home, and Augusta would eventually become inspired after finally meeting The Shee. This story has a good plot with enjoyable characters;however, Augusta became slightly annoying during the scene Augusta had with Mary near the beginning of the story. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, easy read
