Les Secrets D'une Blogueuse Amoureuse (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
This story got three and A HALF stars. It was definitely better then I was expecting (I've looked over it more then a couple times) and really surprised me in a few ways.LIKES1. Kayla was actually really funny and kind of relate-able2. HER SISTER (absolutely loved her)3. Her friends4. The romance tips! Fabulous!DISLIKES1. Her love interest, Jared. He was actually kinda creepy and a little pervy in a way that made me uncomfortable.2. The tough Indian family. I realize it's a normal thing and started a story but I didn't like how the character disappeared after the bad advice and all that. I actually really liked her.3. Her over dramatic reaction to giving bad advice. It's not HORRIBLE. Everyone does, even an Oracle.4. As the story went along it became less and less mature as it started off.5. Those immature, random perv moments. Not cool.So overall, the only downfall was immaturity. Everything else was pretty good to me. It's a cute read. Kayla's character shocked me that I almost stopped reading. At sixteen, she indulges in hook-ups, kissing random people she'd danced for about 7 minutes or so. I was so horrified! Yet, her character was lovable in a cute way.Her being the Oracle was a cool thing because I've always wanted to have that famous alter-ego(as if). And her/Ms. van Diepen's advices are totally applicable. Even her website, The Oracle of Dating, is true! And for just 5 bucks, one can get advices directly from the Oracle herself. One character I really liked was Jared. I've always been into mysterious types and Jared's mysteriousness makes me feel giddy. And while I was reading this, I couldn't stop from smiling, until my cheeks hurt. I just can't stop now that their romance has begun. The Oracle of Dating is a book perfect for hopeless romantics.
