Lessons For The Young Economist (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
The best introduction to Macroeconomics from a capitalistic point of view. It is extremely clear and convincing in his argumentation, providing always useful examples. The author clearly endorses the Austria school of economics, making it one of the best approaches to a proper understanding of how the economy really works and why, sometimes, it does not...As for chapter 20, on the drug prohibition issue, I am "inclined" to agree with the author from a purely economic point of view. But, on the other hand, I do not think his solution is an effective one, for the society. They is the only reason why I do not give the author a full 5 stars.Just pick up and read...!!! This book is, for me, divided into two parts: A very slow first part, where economic theory is explained in great and slow detail, and a second part, where the author really takes off! For me, the second part was a much more fun read. The author should write a lot more on applied political theory in book form, which he is very good in doing in the form of articles. For educators: Make your student read the book!
