Life, Over Easy (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

Well, the only words that come to mind are "one big clusterfuck."Not gonna lie, this isn't an easy book to read. It's...so damn convoluted. And there's nothing really endearing about either character and their interactions. Hmm... Well, I guess (*looks it up*) John's got his moments. And (*looks it up again*) Mason's kind of got his moments. It just seems so disjointed. Like me on one of my rambling rants when I'm especially sleep-deprived.Maybe I need to give it another go in a couple of weeks? At the start of this book, I didn't like either one of the MCs. I loved that the writer could change my perception of these characters. By the end, I cared a great deal about them. John Andrews is a 2 time Olympic gold medalist, whose career is ended when he takes a bad fall in practice. He has gone back to college in an attempt to get his life back on track. There is a problem, he suffers from vertigo and sees the color of peoples emotions above their heads. To make matters worse, he is a virgin! That is the one thing he wants most to correct. One night, John goes to a campus party, where he meets Mason. Mason promises to relieve John of his virginity, but before the deed can be done, Mason passes out. Mason has been living in the bottom of a bottle, since the Alex, the love of his life was killed in an auto accident. Unfortunately, Mason was driving. Their relationship gets off to a bumpy start. When it seems, that they might get together, a new obstacle appears in the form of Alex's ghost! This is a sexy, sad, strange story that like the MCs grew on me page by page. I give it no threesome full of stars.
