Life's A Beach Then You Die (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
Light, very light, cozy mystery. He broadcast the killer half way through and his depiction of women led me to believe he's never really met one. I think that's why the wife was gone for most of the book. She's apparently middle aged but looks and acts and dresses like she's 20. There was a lot of filler in this book - pages of what was eaten for breakfast or information about a drive somewhere. I kept thinking maybe it was setup to the murder or the catching of the murderer but sadly, it was just filler. For being a free kindle book, I wasn't expecting much from this. However, I actually really enjoyed it. It was light reading, enjoyable, reasonably suspenseful, and overall a good story. I enjoyed the private investigator viewpoint of the story since I haven't really seen that before. The only downfall was the editing. The writing was good, but the punctuation and grammar errors were too abundant. If it wasn't for the editing, I would have given this five stars. Overall it was well worth the read!
