Little Blog On The Prairie (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
Good story for 5-8 graders. Themes of doing the right thing, standing up for what you believe in even in face of pressure to do otherwise. Explores complexities of family and social relationships - needing shared experiences to come together, see things from a different perspective. Greyness of right v. wrong. A plus if you are a Little House on the Prairie fan, but by all means not a major point in the book. I don't read books to find "what is wrong" with a book. For example if they do not use any electricity, etc., how do they advertise for people to come and vacation by going back in time. So while some of the technical writing may be off, I liked this story. I believe tweens will like it also. I grew up with Laura Ingalls Wilder books and the show so I thought it was a fun, quick read. I thought Nora should have been named Nellie, though!
What do You think about Little Blog On The Prairie (2010)?
Super annoying main character. I couldn't read more than a few chapters.
