I read THE HUNT, SPEAK NO EVIL, SEE NO EVIL, and FEAR NO EVIL. I enjoyed them and in particular liked Miranda Moore as well as Kate Donovan. After the sordid events of FEAR NO EVIL, I found myself looking forward to reading about Lucy's life. However, it was incredibly hard for me to relate to her character. She is such a Mary Sue that I inadvertently rolled my eyes at many of her actions. I was more interested in the supporting characters than I was her. I enjoyed the story for the most part but it aggravated me that well trained, intelligent people accepted uncorroborated information so that the book could continue. It put a damper on it. I've read so many better crime thrillers. The sexual abuse psychology was pretty good so I gave it an extra star for that.I listened to it as an audiobook. The narrator was very good and added a great deal to the experience. I recognized her voice from a Lisa Scottoline book.
3.5 STARS...the first half was a little boring, but the middle to end was much better.
