Immensely depressing but brutally honest. Piedad Bonnett brings to life her son Daniel through this book. This is the saddest book I have ever read in my life. If you read through this without crying you have no soul. Piedad is a true poet. I loved that Piedad stays away from the cliche and sentimental aspect that comes when losing a loved one. Piedad takes another approach and writes this beautiful story in an eloquent way to give us insight on what someone goes through when losing someone to suicide. As a mother she tries understand her son through his death. As a scholar she tries to understand his illness, his sufferings, his thoughts, his life, the truth.
