Lo Sbaglio Più Bello Della Mia Vita (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
This book was definitely not what I was expecting. Though romance is a major theme, a lot of the love that the cover suggests I felt was directed towards friendship and family. The book was written in a way that made me feel every emotion. At some points, I found myself so angry with how things were going and the next I was completely in love with the characters and how things were coming together. The author did not try to hide the faults in the characters and showed a truly realistic story of young love and the pain of losing those close to you. The only problem that I had with this book was following the story as it switched back and forth from before and after. I have a lot of things to say about this book. First of all, it's eye-rollingly predictable, so just when you think the bad thing is going to happen because the protagonist did something bad, it does. And the bad thing that happens is the bad thing you think is going to happen. NO REALLY I ROLLED MY EYES WHEN THE SECOND BAD THING HAPPENED.Secondly, I honestly thought that this book *might* be written by a teenager. It feels so damn immature to me. And granted, it is about 16- and 18-year-olds, but still. It feels like a teenager's idea of how a love affair should go. Thirdly, I TOTALLY DID NOT BUY THE LOVE STORY. Usually when a couple ends up together at the end of a book, I feel that little upswell of heart-happy, but this time no sirree. I felt nothing. And lastly, NOTHING IS RESOLVED in this book EXCEPT the relationship with her father. Life is so complicated, and this book just...wasn't. I generally don't hate books because they're not real enough, but this one really bothered me. It's so flawed. I love a teenage romance, is what I'm saying, until I don't.
What do You think about Lo Sbaglio Più Bello Della Mia Vita (2014)?
I hated the male lead. Hated him. It made it hard for me to root for the couple.
