This is a gripping crime story with all its twists and turns. A real page turner and for those who like a Who has done it story. Also a fast moving tour through London with a likable loser as an main protagonist, Nick Besley. A good start of a new crime investigation with a sensible portion of British dry humour, not for those who need loads of blood, shock and action, but for all who love to solve a suspense story and a modern crime. I recommend it. best book i have read this year. nick,a copper down on his luck and at the end of his tether, stumbles across a missing person case. the person in question is a very wealthy russian financier living in a luxurious house in hamstead.nick decides to have one last shake of the dice and sees what he can 'take' from the missing russian. and so starts convoluted tale of fraud, swindle, hoax and murder. well told. comfortable style. nick is an interesting character - very flawed but still someone you root for. doesn't look like oliver harris hasn't written anything else; bit of a shame that. would be a good movie/tv series (thinking one of those bbc 'series' that is three episodes long).
What do You think about London Killing (2012)?
In the grand tradition of Inspector Rebus. I only wish there were otersto read.

Excellent read, but a little confusing until the end.
