Faith, Brie’s older sister, dies suddenly, but was the accident actually a suicide? That’s the terrible rumor that is floating around school. In Losing Faith, Denise Jaden’s debut novel, Brie must contend with the loss of not only her sister but all that she once knew. Brie’s mother can’t move on and becomes increasingly depressed, and Brie can’t depend on her father either. Her boyfriend and circle of friends have seemingly abandoned her as well. As for Brie, she can’t let go of the events of Faith’s final night. As her world falls apart, Brie finds an unlikely ally in Tessa, the school’s enigma and begins an unlikely romance with Alis, a sweet and nerdy home school boy The three of them begin to piece together the frayed unanswered questions about Brie’s death and Brie discovers there is more to losing Faith than she had initially bargained for.The books deals with grief, sorrow and resolve, through the unlikely means of a religious cult. The topic of zeal versus spiritual discernment is explored with insight and thoughtfulness. Jaden provides a realistic portrait of how a family copes with unexpected loss and also presents an engaging story of how friendship can be found in unexpected places. I loved ths book. It couldnt hav been anymore perfect than tht but i kinda wanted her to say more at the end, lik the relationship of Alis and Brie, othr details, her friend Tessa and her and wht Celeste is doing. Whn i read and i quote, tht there was so many people tht helped her(the author, Denise Jaden), wit the book, i had no doubt. It probably took alot to write ths long, really skilled writing and had a sense of humor too, which u dont see much whn it comes to reading sad books lik all drama and deaths and stuff. From the start i was literally in a trance. It was extraordinary written from the beginning to the mysterious theme of it all and the plots. One word, perfect. But i really wished she continued wit more details or the little ones lik if Brie tells Alis why they both hav math for first period and if they also hav any othr classes and i would lik to hear som sarcasm from Tessa. The author could of continued but she chose to stop their whn they've jus stepped in the classroom. I can see why she chose to stop their and it was a good place to stop lik how the readers kno most thngs but they can use their own imagination to fill in the vibe the way they want it...... but still:( disappointed, but happy at the same time. It took me 2 days to finish ths book, but i expected it, i mean it was long, cause any othr book between 200 or 300 somethng pages, i can read in 1 day in a couple of hours, but ths was longer(400 pages). I lovd evry second of reading ths book and enjoyed a good laugh evry 10 pages or so. Denise Jaden, u aced ths book:) i giv it 5.5, if i could i would giv it 6 evn^_^¥_¥

Accurate portrayal of religion, but did she *have* to have OCD?
