I remember watching Apolo Anton Ohno over the years as he won his eight medals and being fascinated by his testimony: a rebellious teenager who was raised by a single father who drove him to a remote cabin and left him there to sort out his priorities. Ohno did, and, with some divine inspiration, he became the world’s most decorated winter athlete of all time. Athletes are an inspiration to all of us not because they skate fast or break records, but because of who they are and how God has led them to a place where their flame burns bright enough to light up the world. As we take time out of our lives to watch the spectacle unfold before us, we can all stand in the glow of those amazing lives, touched by God and shared with the world. I’ll be watching, will you?
