So far, everything I have read by Avery Aster I have truly enjoyed. I am hooked on her Manhattanite series! I was a little skeptical about how I would feel about the Undergrad Years. I loved these characters as adults and I didn't want anything to take away from their greatness as I remembered it. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about! Even though Avery has taken us back in time to when the gang was 18, Lex, Taddy, Vive, and Blake are just as outrageous and as funny as ever. Plus there are still some very adult sex scenes that are hot! I thoroughly enjoyed this "peek behind the curtain" into their teenage years, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Okay, so the main reason I actually picked up this book was because of a review opportunity for the second book in this little mini-series, Yours Truly, Taddy. This first book had been mentioned and so, being the good little reviewer that I am, I decided to read this one before picking up the second. I thought it might give me an insight into what I might be expecting for the second book.So this series focuses on the younger selves of Taddy, Lex, Blake, and Vive and their antics. And more specifically, this first book focuses mainly on Lex and her upcoming eighteenth birthday. A big day for her, because she has planned to lose Lady V with her, well, I guess you could call him her boyfriend. The way he treats her, however, makes him EX-boyfriend material. And he definitely shows his colors when Lex finds him doing the dirty deed with someone she has known all her life. This becomes the last straw for her, and it also starts a chain of events that ends up getting Lex and her friends Taddy and Vive arrested for arson and a possible attempted murder charge.Lex will have to prove her innocence, or at least find a way for the charges to drop, but will her friends abandon her to save themselves?I absolutely loved this novel. Lex was a card. When she was fantasizing about the cop who initially pulls her over in the first place, I could just imagine him talking and her drooling. The witty dialogue really took the cake, and I am so excited to read the second book in this series.
