This was a difficult read for me, as I actually do have a relative who was a victim of sexual assault. I guess for me, it was a bit unbelievable reading about Jazmine's romantic relationship with Javier. Don't get me wrong, I loved their realtionship, and Javier was definitely a likeable hero. Jazmine was definitely a strong woman with how she was able to spectacularly take back control of her life. But my family member, still to this day, even though the assault happened more than 12 years ago, has issues with physical intimacy. She is still a hermit, and she is still in counseling for it, and she has never really been the same. But I also know that people's reactions to trauma vary.Nevertheless, this was a decent read. The story is about Jazmine and Javier. This is about love birthed out of adversity and what the power of love can overcome. The story is a page turner and will draw you in from the first few pages. There is mystery, drama, action and emotions galore. Javier is a man of honour who will protect his woman at any cost. I did want to kick his ass when he had a few moments of doubt about our girl Jazz towards the end. After all they had been through together (and her in particular) I could not believe he could have any such doubts. However, all that proves is that he is human. Their love overcomes all! An excellent read! I enjoyed the story!
