Love Your Entity (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

3.5 StarsI’ve been reading paranormal romance (PNR) for a long time. Or at least I thought I had been but it appears that a lot of great authors and series are zipping right by me as I sit and dwell in young and new adult-land.Grrrrrrr… too many genres, not enough time!!!!Cat Devon’s Entity series is one of those PNR series that was on the verge of zipping right by me. I was lucky to have this series introduced to me when the opportunity arose to review it. Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “yeah, but it’s the third book in the series”. Fret not, for I had absolutely no problem diving right in and enjoying this world and all the colorful characters.Sierra Brennan is writer of paranormal mysteries where the heroine in the story is a ghost whisperer. Interestingly enough, so is Sierra because she sees (and talks to) dead people. So needless to say, her writing is authentic. Her heroine is a pretty kick-butt, snarky character who is getting lots of sex. Sierra isn’t getting much in the sex department, considering the ghost issue but she’s all kinds of brave and full of sass and snark. She goes up on my imaginary list of favorite heroines for just being plain funny. That and she worships her Keurig like I do mine. She’ll need her bravery in spades because she has a chance to inherit her uncle’s house in Chicago if she can live in the home for 30 consecutive days. Her two cousins who attempted it previously failed rather quickly. But Sierra already deals with ghosts on a daily basis; what could be worse? Um, naked vampire at the door?Yep, that’s exactly how the books starts… oh, yeah! Love them vampires with no shame. *getting mind back on track*Ronan McCoy is finally free of the master vampire who indentured him into service for one hundred years. Ronan is back in his hometown in Chicago with a claim on his childhood home. He also needs to find a “key” that will help in his attempt to free his sister from a curse. Now what in the world is Ronan going to do with a human getting in his way? Well, if you’re Ronan, you start thinking of all sorts things you want to do to Sierra :)That’s what I loved about Ronan, he was a simple character trying to get out of a jam. He did horrible things in his past but those things didn’t make up who he is. I enjoyed that he was so much more and then at other times he was just kind of a simple guy. Some of the secondary characters were off the wall hysterical and totally worth the book if only for them. I can’t even decide on my favorite. It’s a toss up between Bruce, Tanya, and Pat. I think I have to go with Tanya because she started Sierra’s street team and hosted webinars on Sierra’s behalf. The story was basically a mystery and PNR wrapped into one. The plot moved along great and the only problem I had with the story is that towards the end, a major plot point was introduced that hadn’t been hinted at previously and seemed to come straight from left field. I personally hate when that happens. But don’t let one of my quirks stop you!Seriously, I had absolutely no problems jumping right into Ms. Devon’s world because she did that little bit of explaining needed to understand references to past books or to understand a character’s background. Yes, of course it is ALWAYS better to start a series at the first book. But I’m just saying that if you want to jump right into where I did, you could do it and still enjoy.uhhhh… Enjoy! *salute* (it just felt like a toast was needed there)Review appears on

In Love Your Entity (Entity #3) by Cat Devon, Author Sierra Brennan is probably the most well-equipped member of her family to live in her late great-uncle Saul's home in Chicago. Sierra is an empath who can see and speak with ghosts, so the haunted home should be no problem. However, the stunningly attractive naked guy standing in said house is definitely a problem. He not only impedes her chance of inheriting the house, but Ronan McCoy is a vampire...and a man on a mission.'She hoped he wasn't reading her thoughts. Could she post 'Vampires Out' on her mind? She definitely wanted 'Vampires In' regarding the rest of her body.'Newly released after being his Sire's indentured slave/assassin for nearly a century, Ronan needs to solve a mystery to save his sister's soul. The key to it lies somewhere in his family's old home. The same house Sierra now stands to inherit. Working together is their only hope of achieving both of their goals. But will they be able to concentrate, given the magnetic bond that ties them together?"Most people would consider me a monster," he said."Most people don't see dead people," she retorted. "Haven't you figured out yet that I'm not most people?""Yeah, I get that now.""It took you long enough." She kissed him.Love Your Entity was a lively paranormal romance that kept me guessing while solving its mystery, and with a bunch of characters who tickled me with their quirkiness.I'll start off by saying that there are quite a few characters in this book, so it took me a little while to get acclimated since I haven't read the previous two installments. But I was able to read this as a standalone and thoroughly enjoy it. I loved the mix of snarky humor along with the details surrounding the not-so-happy history of the house and its inhabitants. There was a lot of substance to the plot, which really helped turn this into a quick read. I had to know how it all ended. There was so much to like about Ronan and Sierra. His loyalty to his sister and the fact that he wasn't completely insane after his time doing his Sire's bidding was incredible. And Sierra was a fiery, outspoken woman who kept Ronan on his toes. Their scenes together were always a blend of them antagonizing while trying to keep their hands off each other. So much fun! And of course the secondary characters added whole 'nother level of craziness to the story. If you're a paranormal romance fan looking for a story to lose yourself in, I highly recommend Love Your Entity. It is oh-so enjoyable.

What do You think about Love Your Entity (2013)?

This is the 3rd book in the series, and I have to say after reading all of them, this is completely by far my favorite. You could tell when the authors’ sense of humor was coming out in the book. There were just some parts of the story that made me laugh hysterically, even to the point where I was reading them out loud to my family. In this book we have Sierra who can talk to ghosts, and I thought that was a really good twist to the story and ti wasn’t just another vampire book. That is one thing that I do enjoy about this series, even though some of the characters are vampires, it’s not all about them. There is more to what goes on in that town than just vamps. We have Ronan, who is a recently freed from being an indentured vampire. I do have to say right from the start I was weary of him, and even come the ending of the book I’m still unsure how I feel about him.One thing that I would have wanted to find out is Sierra is a writer; does she actually use the experiences she has with the ghosts in her books? How much of her stories are based on truth and how much is not?Another big thing that I completely enjoyed about this book was how the author brought her fans into this story. In quite a few different ways; she did a call out for everyone who has supported her books, in the book itself. I think that was fabulous of her because she’s showing how she appreciates what everyone has done for her. Overall I did completely enjoy this book and it’s my favorite book of her by far.Reviewed by Crystal Marie for Crystal's Many Reviewers*Copy provided for honest review*

Newcomers to Vamptown one is a in slave for a Master Vampire that wants Ronan to find a special kind of key and is on a deadline. New human woman with a unique gift that no one else could deal with, she is a medium to the ghosts, but her new home will have a couple of ghosts that are different. Besides being a medium, she is also a paranormal romance author. This move to Chicago is a new book for her to write while dealing with a selfish prostitute, her mob related boss and killer (member of Al Capone gang), a very naked sexy male that she sees for the first time walking into her temporary home (she has to stay for 30 days non-stop or the place is sold no matter the problems invading the house)Can these two complete opposites deal with their dislikes of each other or can they finally be able to bring a killer justice and save a live or more.
