LOVING YOU IS EASY is a first read from Wendy S. Marcus and a Romance that carries some heavy weight, with powerful messages laced within the pages. I applaud Wendy for taking on some of the truths that exist in the "Social" and Global world today. There is a lot going on from the beginning, but as the story progresses, we come to know Shane and Brooke better, and the way they interact with each other, a grumpy soldier and a stubborn teacher...let's just say there is quite a bit of funny moments between these two!One of my favorite secondary characters was Patsy, Shane's mother...I just loved her! And she could make ANYTHING using an Apple...haha! Will be looking forward to more from Wendy! If you are looking for a fresh romance ...Give LOVING YOU IS EASY a try! This book pretty much draws you in right away, and I loved that! Very rarely do I pick up a book and feel drawn in from the first couple pages. You have a politician's daughter part of a soldier pen pal program, and she begins to write a blue collar soldier. He immediately warns her that he's not looking for a relationship, but she falls for him quickly.I feel like the author should have added more of the couples letters to each other in the book. We meet them, see them interact, and they care for each other. I couldn't figure out what drew them to each other. We don't get to see or feel them fall in love, so the love they share isn't necessarily believable to me. Shane is also an injured war veteran, has PTSD, and lashes out a lot at Brooke. He is quite angsty and I was wondered how Brooke was even attracted to him. He didn't want her, but didn't seem to want anyone else to have her.Brooke has easily likable and I could relate to her because I have a strained relationship with my parents as well. Her world really gets turned around in this book, and I hate that she has to go through what she has to go through. She trusted Shane and for that, she ended up suffering. In the end, she does get her happily ever after.I easily fell into this book and couldn't stop reading. This author can draw you in and that's miraculous. I have to say that I don't like Shane, and wanted to smack him several times. His sister was also a piece of work, and he failed to protect her against her wrath. There are my pros and cons. I have to say that I think this author has a ton of potential and I can't wait to see what she writes next.
