Lunch Lady Y El Cyborg Sustituto (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
Krosoczka, J. (2009). Lunch lady and the cyborg substitute. New York: Alfred A. Knopf.Literature CircleWhen it comes to Lunch Lady, there's more than meets they eye. When they're not working in the cafeteria, she and her assistant Betty are fighting crime. So when a teacher hatches a plot to replace all the teachers in the school with robots, Lunch Lady is on the case!I enjoyed this book much more than I expected to when I first saw the cover. Though not as profound as some of the other literature circle selections, there was some surprising depth to this selection, and plenty of humor. I laughed out loud when the Lunch Lady spies on all of the teachers. This book would be perfect for reluctant or struggling readers. I might also ask students to think of their own super hero and create a short graphic story of their own. Krosoczka, J. (2009). Lunch lady and the cyborg substitute: Graphic novel. New York: Alfred A. Knopf.Literature Circle 1This book takes the reader on an adventure from the point of view of a young student. Three students wonder what their lunch lady does when she isn't at school. Like most students they think that she has a boring life. BOY, where they wrong. Very cute graphic novel. Meant for ages 10-14, but anyone could read it. Also could be used in the classroom to teach the theme things are not always what they appear.
