Mackenzie Family Christmas: The Perfect Gift (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
This is a hard one for me to write because I was so sure that I'd love it the way I loved the novels for all the individual characters represented, and yet I didn't love it. Not at all. Instead I found it trite, and boring, and try-hard. I couldn't be bothered to finish which has put me in a bit of a pickle because when I bought this one I bought the one for Daniel and other new ones and now I've no desire to read them. This was my first Jennifer Ashley book. While I hadn't read the other books regarding the Mackenzie's, this was good and I devoured it. Ian Mackenzie is the strange one. One could say he has Asperger's which back in the regency times was not understood. Yet the love of his life and his children have helped him to come to terms with his family which is all gathered for the Christmas season. I will definitely look for more Ashley books. She kept the story interesting.
