I don't even know what to say. This book was completely amazing. I gave it a full 5 stars, if I could give it more stars. I laughed, I cried, I freaked out, I scoffed, and I had a great time. There were so many feelings, Its what sets it apart from mediocre books. I love this book so much. I didn't think the series could get any better but it does again and again. The relationship between Kate and Curran just blossoms. My only complain is the intimate scenes. Coming from a reader that enjoys some erotic books, I always find it a bit disappointing that the author can describe the surrounding with such exemplary skill and yet refuses to show the same attention when kate and curran make love. I guess you can't have it all. Either way, I really don't know what I'll do when I run out of books to read in this series. I've spent the last week and a half ignoring the rest of the world (its the holiday season) and reading these books. I thank god I'm a fast reader. I'm going through them like wildfire. I'm a binge reader. I know I have a problem. lol this review contains spoilers. Ten stars out of Five. I can't express how much I am loving this series. I think it's the humor that draws me in--I am constantly laughing out loud. One of my favorite parts was when Kate was talking on the phone and between talking she describes her doodles. I was cracking up. Then someone comes in the room..... "The vampire leaned forward, tapping my doodle with a scimitar claw. “Is that a lion with horns and a pitchfork?” “Yep.” “Is he carrying the moon on his pitchfork?” “No, it’s a pie." Hilarious!!! Then there is the continued buildup of tension between Kate and Curren so I'm reading as fast as I can to find out what happens and FINALLY something happens and I am so happy but I'm thinking, well now that I've hit the "climax" the rest of the book is going to be a let down. Then Erra comes into the picture and I am swept back into the story. I loved the mystery of the who was watching out for Kate and the strange scaled animal that swept Kate away right before she was just about to take Erra down. I cracked up when Kate said Shapeshifter crocodiles. what is this world coming to?Other things I loved 1. the glue and the chair scene. 2 finding out why Kate saw herself in the undead ritual image 3. the whole conversation between Erra and Kate 4. how Curren doesn't come in to save her every time 5. the reason she left the order 6. exploring Kate's feelings about becoming an alpha when she doesn't want to -I love this stuff-it's the reason I loved the hunger games- seeing how people become leaders or are made heroes. 7. we don't choose the family we come from, we choose the family we make. 8. learning Currens back story. 9. how tender and gentle Curren is with Kate. 10. Kate's heartwrenching struggle to not let herself a love anyone because of fear they will die. 11. the way Kate stayed by Currens side at the end. I'm afraid to read the series to fast because I don't want to reach the end so I'm going to read a couple of other books before I go on to the next Magic book.(The princess bride being one of them)I almost forgot Grendle!!!!! How could I forget to mention the furious demonic poodle!!
