Everyone loves the story because it was low key and sweet, except for a few who hated it because the friends/lovers parted ways for a stretch before getting back together.I guess I'm the only one who didn't really care for it because the descriptions were boring as all get out, the characters were dull, the sentences were poorly grammaritized, and the story was just poorly told in the first place. There was no ZING! It was just boring, and then it was confusing, and then it was boring again, and then there was a happy ending!Plus the relationship did not feel all that healthy. 3-1/2 Stars. I absolutely adore the friendship to intimacy, to lust, and finally love! The whole premise was great, and the first half of the book was beautiful.Once Laurence went to college, I disconnected a bit. The men disconnected, and unfortunately the story seems to have lost something; it felt awkward and uncomfortable between Laurie and Aaron after that, and not in a good, build up the tension kind of way. I eventually got back on track, but I still missed the complete connection the two men shared from their childhood, to what they became as adults. The ending seemed rushed, and I would have enjoyed more time "feeling" Laurence and Aaron again. This was a beautiful short story, and I really enjoyed the journey.
