This little handbook here is like an opening into the world of the House of Night series. I read it this month because I plan to start the series when the final book comes out in October(?). I found this handbook to be quite interesting with little short stories of history and also it explains the biological changes that take place to a vampyre (I must admit, that spelling had me frustrated). So yes, those parts were interesting, the rest not so much.Yes, I liked this book, didn't love it, was bored when reading it at parts, but I believe it is a nice little opening to world of vampyre in the House of Night series. Acho que o conceito poderia ter levado este livro a ser um dos melhores do género, e sinto que tal não se verificou - para mim, pelo menos.Tudo o que nos é indicado no mesmo já sabíamos, ou calculávamos, diria que a minha parte preferida foi a que menos conhecia, um pouco sobre a história dos vampyros de Cast ( ou "Breve Introdução à História dos Vampyros" - quarto capítulo ), e mesmo assim não foi suficiente para me fazer pensar melhor acerca desta obra.Se alguém está com receio de perder alguma parte indispendável à história, que isso não seja mais motivo de preocupações, porque este é um livro totalmente independente e que não acrescenta nada de exclusivamente novo.Outro aspeto ainda é as várias interrupções entre capítulos com espaços a serem preenchidos pelo dono deste "manual" do género bilhete de identidade. Não sei qual é o objetivo, talvez seja tornar este livro um pouco mais do que deveria ser no mundo fictício, ou talvez recordar-nos a todos que a maioria dos fãs desta saga são jovens adultos ou talvez crianças, sei que não gostei disso, seja qual for a ideia, fez-me recordar aquelas revistas, ou diários que ridiculamente preenchia e que ainda me faziam sentir mais ridícula por ver o livro todo riscado e feio com gatafunhos desnecessários.Dos aspetos positivos, falo das gravuras, algumas bastante interessantes e sugestivas.Globalmente, de 0 a 5, dou 2 - pelo conceito deveras original e pelo trabalho que julgo ter sido empregue neste livro, especialmente pela artista Kim Doner.
What do You think about Manual Do Iniciado (2011)?
I really loved this! I am a huge fan of the series, so i would obviously think so. The book introduces you to the physical and mental change that comes with being marked and the history of old vampyres. The illustrations were beautifully done. It almost reads like a text book for a fledgling, and you can put pictures and your progress of the change in there, which i won't do, don't want to ruin the beautiful book. There could have been a lot more in it though, but a must have for HON fans!

I enjoyed this book, it was nice to see the setting in which the house of night was placed, but for me it was a little confusing. I don't remember a lot of the places where the house of night took place, but what I really loved to read were the little stories/legends. So overall it was a nice book to read but it was a little bit of a slow read and sort of like a history book for the house of night.
