As historical romances go, this one had a fairly detailed and intriguing plotline. However, I struggled with the romance between the heroine (age 16) and the hero (age 28). He was certainly written as a 28 yr. old but her words/actions jumped up and down in age, at one moment completely 16 and acting way too young for any serious attachment, and the very next moment mirroring her 28 yr. old hero. Very confusing. I understand the author wanted her to be young, but even a year or two older (17 or 18) would still have been young but would have made the attachment feel a little more believable. Still enjoyable, however. Loved the characters and the plot had solid twists and turns. I agree with a lot of the earlier reviews that Gil and Marian ' s relationship progressed naturally and that they make an excellent pair despite the age differences. I was rolling around with laughter at the pranks and situations that occurred and I marveled at Marian ' s maturity and wisdom for such a young girl. Great story. One of the books I wish would not end.
What do You think about Marian's Christmas Wish (2011)?
I really enjoyed this delightful book.
