Sweet. Refreshing. Just what I needed to read. Even though the story is about a pastor, you don't feel like the author is preaching to you. This feels like a real story. The characters were real. The feelings were real. Nothing about the story was unrealistic. Daniel and Jessica are good friends. He needs a wife to pastor a church and she wants to have a family. She suggests that they marry. Jessica truly loves Daniel. I felt so sorry for her throughout the book. Her mom is sick, she can't cook, everything that she tries to do seems wrong, and she feels that she is competing with Daniel's dead wife. She tries so hard. I can't imagine how hard it would be to be a pastor's wife in which everyone was judging you. (And if you think that doesn't happen then you are fooling yourself). This was an inspirational book that shows you the real life of a pastor. They sometimes cuss, they make love with their wives, they fight with their wives, and all in all they are human. The story is about how this couple reacts in a marriage that isn't "regular". It shows how God is in control and we must allow him to do His will. It is told from Jessica's point of view. No cliffhanger. This book was just blah for me. It didn't feel very Christmas-y, which was what I was aiming for when picking it up. This book also had conflicting aspects, on one side it almost read like a Christian novel—Daniel being a pastor, him questioning his faith, questions as to why God would put someone through tough times—yet on the other side it was a stereotypical romance novel with "explicit" (well, it would be explicit for a Christian novel) sex scenes and the focus of the book on Daniel and Jessica's relationship. All this aside, I just didn't feel drawn to the characters nor the story. Jessica was so insecure and whiney and Daniel was too indecisive. Overall it was just an okay book, I'm glad I got it for free on Amazon.
What do You think about Married For Christmas (2013)?
Cute, quick romance read. Great for timing around Christmas. Stand alone. HEA. Freebie on Amazon.

A nice story but a bit too much crying from the heroine.
