Amazing to have a great great grandmother who was so very outrageous! I would have given this a 3.5 but it didn't quite make a 4. Of course I know "Rebecca" well, but this is an interesting DeMaurier. I found the first 3/4 most fun and the last 1/4 wherein Mary Anne has some issues (not shared to avoid spoilers)that made her quite notorious in London. I didn't particularly like her, but the times in which she lived were times when women really didn't have many rights and Mary Anne took what she could, using many men in the process. I'm glad I read it.
What do You think about Mary Anne (2013)?
Great to start political context and historical insight. But lost interest towards the end!

It was better in retrospect than while I was reading it.

She was certainly a woman who knew her own mind
