3.5 starsI’m not sure if I was in the right mood to read MATE CLAIMED but after starting it and putting it off for a week, I knew I needed to power through it. Overall, I enjoyed Eric and Iona, but they weren’t my favorite. It felt like this plot had been going on for a while since Eric met Iona in the previous book(s). Iona didn’t want to give up her human life, but her shifter half wasn’t going to let her ignore it for much longer. Eric meanwhile is also dealing with the merging of shifter towns and the leader, Graham McNeil, is gearing up to be a challenging threat. I did enjoy seeing Diego and Cassidy and the birth of their cub. Learning about the current experiments being done, brings everyone together as they rush to save Iona, Cassidy and her cub. Eric and Iona were both strong characters but the fun was lacking a little for me. Great great story!! Eric is the leader of shiftertown, iona is an uncollared shifter. Eric wants and needs to protect her from other shifters. Iona doesn't want anyone to know that she is a half shifter. There is so much going on in this town with the shifters from another town being transported to eric's town. Graham, leader of another shiftertown, wants to challenge eric for the spot, and claim iona for his own. Read the rest to find out everything that is going on because its too much to explain without spoiling it.
