Emma Lang's historical western romance is sad in the ways of children loosing their parents and a sibling. Matthew Graham is trying to go on after the deaths of his parents and loss of a younger brother. He goes to fulfill his dad's wishes of gaining more land, but doesn't know until he gets to the land office that he needs a wife. So he invents one. Little does he know, there is a woman in town who has the name he needs. He offers to marry her and tells her why. But as time goes on and Hannah lives on the Graham ranch, things heat up. Hannah does marry Matthew and they consumate their marriage. The bedroom is a hot place and with time, love grows. They are looking for the person's responsible for the murders of their parents and other in the area and Hannah tries to help but puts herself in danger along with other family members. This is the first in a series of books. Emma did an awesome job incorporating everyone in, so that the other books are a continuation of the last. I'm looking forward to reading them all. I'm an idiot... I really thought this was a western historical romance- but I was wrong.. It's more like an erotica with a story crammed in... It had a little romance, a little family love, a little mystery and a lot of detailed sex scenes. The romance was good for a bit until Matthew decided to act weird and be a hero who can't make up his mind. The family love was nonexistent - it felt more like Matthew acting like an annoyed father who couldn't handle being around everybody at once so he bosses them around or just ignored them. The mystery of their parents death and brother's kidnapping was anti-climactic and felt really fake. The only emotions I got were from Hannah but she seemed to act like five different characters at once. I think the only person I enjoyed was Granny:)Overall an okay read because I like convenient marriage tropes but otherwise nothing to really care about.. Unless your looking for more sex than story...
