The story took awhile to get moving, but as this is the first book in the Larue Donavan series, that's okay with me. The characters are likeable and funny, especially the main character - bookshop owner and ghost hunter - Larue Donavan and I never mind when the "villain" is over-the-top "bad", as Brianna is, the mean & conniving sort of person that readers love to hate (and we also cheer when those baddies get their just desserts).I look forward to more in-depth character development, more stories about the paranormal, and more "romance" between Larue & Callahan, etc. in book #2 of Rose Pressey's Larue Donavan series. Larue Donavan is not your typical book store owner. She sees ghosts and takes on ghost investigations. Callahan Weiss is the new coffee store owner, he is attracted to Larue until Brianna decides, she wants him. Its a witty, laugh out loud story of Larue and her ghosts learn the truth about Brianna and the town she lives in. A feel good series that have quirky secondary characters and a light hearted story.
