Meet Me In Malmö: The First Inspector Anita Sundstrom Mystery (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
Great characters, true to their portrayal. Story has lots of bits that seem disconnected. Author brings them all together nicely. Read this because of recent trip to Sweden, which is where action takes place. Discovered later that author lives in Scotland. I was not altogether a fan of Anita, the main character; she seems really messed up in her choice of friends. She is, however, a dynamite detective. A good read. There are two more in the series so will have a chance to continue with all the characters, even some of the "bad guys." I don't really like crime stories. I don't really read crime stories. I came across this book by a pure accident and... damn, I totally fell for it. I'm in total awe over the book. I'm in total awe over the story. It had what a crime story had to have - suspense, action, plot twists...Well, I cannot say I didn't expect the outcome at some point (basically because I've been suspecting virtually anybody) but it was just one of very many guesses I've made reading that book. And I suppose that's what makes "Meet Me in Malmo" so great.Can't wait till I get next books of MacLeod!

Decent story but I felt some of the intentional misdirection was a bit flimsy.
