Meg: Hell's Aquarium (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

haven't even come close to finishing it but don't think that's a prerogative to judge the fourth book in this series (having read the previous three), as Hannah here admitted this is indeed a guilty pleasure but every book has been a steady decline way past the pressure limit so enough is enough.first two are pretty much carbon copies of each other (with added cringeworthy dialogues and characters) and the third book takes things into the dark waters of "modern cultural criticism", lambasting the new hit thing this 21st Century has brought us; Reality TV. stay out of those waters Steve! they're too damn murky for you, the currents are too strong and you'll probably get bit by a metaphorical shark. as in, a critic, me in this case. HA!Steve probably yells at kids to get off his lawn too.so anyway, on numerous occasions i was tempted to put Hells Aquarium down, the camel that broke the straws back was the love interest of Taylor Jr easing up to him in the pool professing to be a "free spirit" and that they should perhaps get better aqua-inted (pun intended)...yup, two feet firmly planted in the vernacular of 21st Century young adults there Steve. what next, she's gonna offer him a hit of her doobie and suggest they go see that killer new band Pink Floyd ? As a fan of the series I couldn't wait to get into this one and hoped it would be better than #3, which I thought was just okay. Started off slow enough I actually stopped reading for many months before coming back to it! That first third was excruciating and i see why so many people struggle to read the rest of it. Gladly it picks up from there and I found myself reading the last third every free moment I had. Definitely better than 3, but not quite up with first 2.

What do You think about Meg: Hell's Aquarium (2010)?

i bought the 4th book instead of the 1st... i read it still though! pretty good adventure.
