An undercover cop meets mobster romance that ratchets up the heat level and then fizzles near the end.The story starts off with a lot of excitement and action. I was kept entertained by all the mystery and lots of sexual tension between Gabriel and Miguel.It went south (no pun intended) after the big face-off. All that tension drained away, leaving behind a lot of sappiness which I don't normally mind, but the turnabout was so jarring that I couldn't quite get on board with the changes.That being said, the latter part of the book was pretty heartwrenching and I was quite moved by Gabriel's predicament. It feels a little like two different stories running at different speeds at times.Overall, enjoyable though. When I first started reading this book, I was unsure about it. I'd read a couple of pages and then get sidetracked into looking at my e mails etc, it did not really hold my interest.Yes, the sex was hot and the storyline was good as well, but there was just something missing.Finally at about 35% something clicked and then I couldn't put it down.I did guess that the other guy was FBI, but the story after the warehouse really drew me in.I can't wait to read books 2 and 3 if they are ever released.

I just read it and it was fabulous, I like them both, and hope I will soon have more of them.
