Why the one star? The negatives just snowballed for me...1. Mikalo's accent got excruciatingly annoying. After so long, it made him seem unintelligent. Why he was such a coveted employee to hire was beyond me. Am I supposed to believe his business writing is impeccable when he couldn't even speak English properly? "My second name. The name after my first. Delis. It is Delis. And I am Mikalo Delis. That is my name." I'm not one to down an accent, that's not exactly the issue; the issue is making me wanna buy what this author is selling and that was a big fail. I highly suggest trying out the sample. Not sure how long it is, but it may be enough to convince you to steer clear. 2. I didn't like ANY of the characters, especially the heroine. Ronan was too dramatic. From the jump, I pegged her as a nut-case when she started spouting her feelings of love when absolutely nothing happened. A week hadn't even passed when she was contemplating quitting her job to be with him. UH,yeah...no. ONE. Who says he wants to be with you? TWO. What the hell do you know about him? THREE. You've known him less than a week, nutbag!! At the point she was contemplating all this, I didn't even find anything about him attractive. Just because the author can tell me he's all that and a bag a chips doesn't mean I'm a believer. Also, I think their conversation had just consisted of him telling her he was applying for a job at her law firm and that he didn't wan't to bang the skinny girls that were ogling him at another table across the coffee shop. Life changing stuff. 3. One too many turn-offs. You love your alpha-males? Yeah? Well, too bad, this guy is anything but. There was a certain "love" scene that had me re-reading to make sure I got it right. Had me like, "Yeah. that just happened. Disgust-tering." Girls do that, but it is NOT hot when a guy does that,SS! Not cool! It was a bell that couldn't be un-rung. To make matters worse, Mikalo was sappier than Ronan. "And it is like this, yes. But outside of Athens, in the country and the beaches, up in the cliffs where the sky is so blue..."Pfft! Cheese-factor times 10. I know they say foreign guys are way more in touch with their sensitive sides and what not but he already had way too much against him for me to find that attractive. Another turn off was the constant use of their damn pet names. It wasn't every sentence, but DAMN! It freaken felt like it! "'My Grace, she goes crazy at the thought of me talking with a pretty girl.' Shrugging, he lightly laughed. 'Why should this worry my Grace?' This wasn't going the way I wanted it to. I needed to fix it, and quick. 'Mikalo, my Mikalo,' I said..."Wtf! And you know what? If SS liked Grace so bad, she should have made her first name Grace, not Ronan! 4. When you put everything together, it was unrealistic and unbelievable. I should have known better. A few pages into the book and this chick was claiming she was wet by just looking at him across the room. Come on, really? The amount of clichés this author used was ridiculous. I think it may have been too soon for me to write this review. I probably should have let myself simmer down a bit. But regardless, my advice would still be this: Don’t. Just don’t. Ok first off Mikalo you are one sexy beast..... This story was fantastic none of the characters danced around there feelings Mikalo came right out and told her which I believe Greek men are very much like that :-). I loved how descriptive there love making was. Especially with all the men in one scene holy hotness. I'm happy to have not read about lying and cheating and just read about true love trying to trust and let love into there hearts.(don't get me wrong I do love to read about lying and cheating just not all the time) this book was really different in a good way. Mikalo shows "my grace" how to trust and love after what happened between her and her husband. It was just a fantastic love story and I cannot wait for book 2.
