This was definitely a tear jerker that I never thought would have been!Award Winners-Silver Birch Award/Nominee; Award Winners-Sid Fleischman Humor Award; Emotions-Grief; Interpersonal Relationships-Friendship; School-MiddleAR book level-5.5Interest level-grade 6-8This tear jerker/page Turner would be a great read aloud for a 6th grade class and could learn different ways of dealing with a loss of someone close. I'm an adult, dammit, and only read these kid books so my son (who is required to read them for school), and I can discuss them . . . but I always end up crying - and this book made me cry. I feel like Sylvia because my life has been spent trying to help children - and Milo needed her help! A great story. I skipped over the cartoons for 95% of the time (sorry Mr. Silberberg) and was still able to "get it".
I thought this book was amazing. A child trying to do things righ and not embarrass himself
