Mindsiege (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Having already read book one of the Mindspeak series by Heather Sunseri, I could hardly wait to begin reading book two, "Mindsiege". I fell in love with the story and characters from the beginning of the first book, so the entire time I read this book, I couldn't help but feel I would one day watch the second part of their story also unfold in a motion picture. "Mindsiege" took me on a journey of what humans could futuristically be like one day. Maybe this is even happening today??? I love books that grab me, sink their 8-pronged tracking device legs deep into my brain and hang on! Anytime I can step away from a book, but yet I can't stop thinking about the characters and what is going to happen to them, I consider that to be sly work of writing genius. Super kudos to writer and creater, Heather Sunseri, on an even more action-packed, brain and genetically-infused book two!Mindsiege leaves me even more intrigued and excited to know more about Lexi and Jack's story, and the other characters, too. Sunseri just keeps dangling that big orange carrot in front of me, and I fall harder and harder each time she writes. I thought Mindspeak was a wild, fast-paced ride and then I read Mindsiege, the second book in Heather Sunseri's Mindspeak series. It picks up where book 1 left off, smack dab in the middle of Lexi and Jack's chaos. Sunseri's voice shines in this novel as she weaves a tale of the powers of the mind, freewill, and choice. When Lexi's mind can be sieged, she isn't sure who is for her or against her, but one thing is certain: She will not stop until she has the answers she's after. The romance between Jack and Lexi, as always, sizzles but isn't too edgy (if you are a parent monitoring what your young adult reads).New characters emerge in Mindsiege and they don't disappoint. But can they be trusted? No spoilers! You'll have to read it and find out for yourself. With fun twists and turns, I couldn't stop turning pages, and read it in less than two days. Now all I can say is, can I have book 3? Whether you're a teenager or an adult, I think you'll enjoy the story, especially if you're a fan of the show Orphan Black.
