I'm going to admit that I'm biased towards the author since Yahtzee is one of my favorite game critics and a comic genius in his videos. If you can get past the niggling occurrences of things being mentioned in Mogworld that would never exist in a fantasy world such as high schools, koi ponds, etc, you'll be able to enjoy the humor in the novel. It's very Douglas Adam's-esque, chock full of dry wit and stereotype subversion (the nicest character in the book is a necromancer named Lord Deadgrave, for example). That said, the pacing itself is a bit imbalanced at some points, and the dialogue of some of the more comical characters can feel a bit out of place. I might actually recommend the audiobook over the book itself since it's done by the author himself, and his own delivery of the text alleviates the issue for the most part.I'd absolutely recommend this for fans of MMORPGs, or anyone who enjoys Fantasy humor. Hrm. What to say about this book. I enjoyed the idea of the book more than the book. By the 50% mark I found myself skimming sections only to go back when something suddenly changed. I kinda knew how things would end by then, I really wanted to see what happened next, but found the book was really dragging on.I wanted to like it way more than I actually liked it.I did enjoy all the characters though, and the overarching story, just wish some of the middle chunks were more exciting or removed.
What do You think about Mogworld (2010)?
Started slow and very weird, but once I figured out what was going on, it was very entertaining.

Genuinely funny with moments of brilliance. Third time through, and can't say it let me down.

Fun! Reminded me Robert Asprin's MythAdventures series.
