Moonlight On The Magic Flute (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

You should read the book Moonlight on the Magic Flute by Mary Pope Osborne! In it, Jack and Annie travel to a place where they’re not really welcomed. The book is lovely because when you’re done reading some of it you’re excited to read more of it. Jack has a magic flute. Annie has a magic voice in the story. When Wolfie gets in trouble, Jack and Annie HELP HIM! All the animals listen to them. Every thing works out fine. It’s exciting when Wolfie goes in the flower/zoo and trips and breaks the wire and it lets out the zoo animals. The characters were very interesting. I liked the way it was written. You should read this book. I know these books are really big in the elementary schools. And Bianca liked them. But honestly, I think our kids can handle more. I understand the historical element being a way for kids to learn, but the characters are flat. There's gotta be books at this level that are better written. I think I'm going back to the basics. We're going to start on the original fairytales for our nightly reading tonight.
