Morning Glories, Vol. 7: Honors (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

How can something so confusing be so entertaining at the same time? I get the same feeling I got many years ago, when I was watching "Twin Peaks". Same mixture of confusion and entertainment. Love it and haven't given up hope yet, that someday all pieces will fall into place. Until then I just let Spencer dazzle me with each new installment. Maybe I will call him the David Lynch of comics in the end. Collects Morning Glories issues #35-38I'm still really liking this story, but I'm starting to feel overwhelmed by the overabundance of mysteries and characters. I used to read every volume over again from the beginning in preparation for reading a new volume, but I had to give that up. Volume 7 was probably the biggest disappointment in the series so far in the sense that it was the shortest volume (only 4 issues long) and there weren't any huge, surprising moments. There's just a ton of stuff happening that I don't quite understand. Plus, all of the things I don't understand are happening to characters that I'm starting to lose track of. Who is who? I'm not really sure. This volume opened with a story about Fortunato, and I couldn't even remember if we had met him before or if he was a new character. My opening paragraph may have you asking yourself why I gave it a 5-star review. Here's the thing...this is a 100-issue story. I've read through Issue #38. That means that I'm not even half-way through yet. I've appreciated Nick Spencer's style of storytelling since Issue #1, and I'm sticking with him until the end. This is still a very captivating story, even as I'm beginning to lose my connection to many of the characters and plot threads. This volume was a very quick read, and it was the first time I bought a volume without immediately reading it. I'm starting to lose interest, but not so much so that I'm going to give up on it.

What do You think about Morning Glories, Vol. 7: Honors (2014)?

This book confuses me to no end, and this volume is no exception. And yet, I can't stop reading it.

The further I get into reading this series the less sense it makes.

*sigh* I just want to know how it all ends.
